Is Rudy Giuliani Green?

Giuliani was asked about global warming at a recent press conference. He believes there is global warming, and he tends to side with scientists regarding the impact of pollution on the problem. Whether or not pollution is the issue that some think it is, he believes we need to do something about pollution anyway.

When asked specifically about An Inconvenient Truth, he chided Gore for not providing more serious solutions to the problem, and then offered some possible approaches to the problem.

Here is video of the press conference that I stole from Pajamas Media (shh, don't tell them, they might want to sue me or something).

Giuliani is a bit too nationalistic for my tastes, but he is already on record as pro-choice and pro-gay rights. If you add pro-green to his resume, you might end up with the strongest candidate in the field on either side of the aisle -- one who could win as an independent if he didn't get the outright GOP nomination.

When you also add in his "hero" status from 9-11 and the fact that he has a penchant for speaking first and thinking second, you have an alternative to the rehearsed and predictable John McCain, a candidate who seems to have peaked a few months ago and is on the way down (maybe sucking up to the fascist right wasn't such a good idea after all).

exactly! i think his position on Global Warming is smack on! he's going to be a good match for Obama. technically Guiliani's leadership has already been tested under pressure (e.g. 9/11). i'd pick him over McCain anytime. i hope he announce his candidacy soon. this will be an exciting election.

Yeah, it should be really interesting.

I wish more people saw McCain for the weasel he is.

Peace,
